The Journey That Changed Everything

The Journey That Changed Everything

In 2022, what began as a personal mission soon transformed into a life-changing movement. Our founder and president, Joe Hall, set out on an extraordinary journey—walking 3,176 miles from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to Ocean Beach, San Francisco over the course of seven months. While the physical challenge alone was immense, the true purpose of the journey ran much deeper.

Joe’s walk was driven by a cause close to his heart: raising awareness for mental health and supporting behavioral health services at Children’s Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. The journey was also a tribute—honoring the life of a friend’s son who tragically died by suicide in 2020 at just sixteen years old. Every step Joe took carried the weight of that loss and the hope of preventing similar tragedies in the future.

As Joe moved across cities, towns, and rural communities, he encountered people from all walks of life. What he discovered was both heartbreaking and inspiring. Mental health struggles were everywhere—but so was resilience. People approached him not just out of curiosity, but out of a need to share their stories.

These weren’t surface-level conversations. They were deeply personal accounts of pain, survival, and healing. Many had never spoken openly about their struggles before. Yet something about Joe’s journey created a space where they felt safe enough to be vulnerable.

This experience revealed a powerful truth: people don’t just need solutions—they need connection. They need someone willing to listen without judgment.

By the time Joe reached the Pacific Coast, it was clear that this journey was more than a one-time effort. It had sparked something much bigger—a mission to amplify voices, break stigma, and build a community rooted in empathy and understanding.
